North Yorkshire Police
North Yorkshire Police (NYP) is responsible for protecting England's largest county covering approximately 8000 km2 and the Unitary Authority of York. The county spans from the East coast and close to the West coast. Much of this area is rural in nature and includes two major national parks; the city of York is also within its boundaries.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) has a significant negative financial, environmental and social impact across the region; the City of York currently experiences approximately 16500 ASB incidents/year.
The combination of community led prevention measures with the increased ability to maximise enforcement opportunities through the use of new ASB legislation, CSAS powers and a focussed multi agency hub with City of York Council has seen a significant overall reduction in services required to tackle ASB and allow, through re-direction of funds, for the increased investment into community owned sustainable solutions.
